Alongside our regular personal alarm service, we now also have the Vibby Fall Detector package available. The Vibby offers even more protection to older, frail, and disabled people who may be prone to falls or medical emergencies.
The Vibby removes another step from the process. This fall detector automatically detects when you have a fall and will send an alert through to our Care Team.
A third of all cases of life-threatening trauma in England and Wales are among over-60s who have fallen from a standing or sitting height. In fact, around one in three adults over 65 who live at home will have at least one fall a year. These figures are worrying and can cause concern for those who live alone, and their loved ones.
Our aim is to ensure that you always have quick access to help should you have an accident at home. With a personal alarm you can continue living in the comfort of your own home, whilst giving your family peace of mind that you are being looked after.
This article will introduce you to the Vibby Fall Detector and will explain how this device works.
Introducing the Vibby Fall Detector
The Vibby Fall Detector is one of the most stylish and technologically advanced Telecare devices available. This fall detector is worn around the wrist like a watch, using the sleek black wrist strap which comes with the device.
The pendant itself comes in a modern, shiny white finish which is made from hypoallergenic plastic. The Vibby has been designed to look as modern and as comfortable as possible. It’s a device that you can happily show-off and keep on even when you leave your home.
The Vibby is lightweight, at just 35g, and is also waterproof. This means that you can keep your pendant on whilst in the bath or shower. In fact, we advise that you do; there is a greater risk of a fall during this activities due to all of the water involved.
The Vibby Fall Detector is particularly useful for people who suffer from medical conditions such as:
How Does It Work?
The Vibby Fall Detector can be worn around the wrist, just like the original MyAmie Pendant. The difference is that the Vibby will automatically send an alert call to our Care Team should you suffer from a fall. It accomplishes this thanks to a revolutionary algorithm that detects a sudden change in altitude.
With a fall detector there is no need to press a button. Confirmation that an alarm has been raised is shown via an LED light on the Vibby. Furthermore, the device will also vibrate to signify that an alert call has been sent. The Vibby also features a help button which can be pressed in an emergency.
As with the standard personal alarm package, a member of our Care Team will respond immediately over the base unit’s loudspeaker. They will assess your situation, before taking the appropriate actions to help. This will usually involve the team calling your emergency contacts and, if needed, the emergency services.
With the Vibby Fall Detector, it’s also easy to cancel an alarm call if it is activated by accident. Simply cover the face of the Vibby with your hands, or stand up within the 30 second period after the fall was detected. The fall detector will stop vibrating to confirm that the alert call has been cancelled.
Don’t worry if the Care Team respond before you cancel your alert call. They are always happy to hear from you, and the false alarm will act as a test.
Pricing
